"Having released several power metal and traditional heavy metal classics back in the 80s and 90s, heavy metal pirates Running Wild was one of my favorite bands back then. "Rogues En Vogue" is the last full length album from the band, and, I must say, it is not exactly a swansong - rather, it is a dying gasp.

The style is pretty much the same as always, but compared to their earlier efforts, "Rogues En Vogue" seems very watered down and lackluster. There are some good songs on the album, to be sure, but in general, it seems very tired, and overall "Rogues En Vogue" is a mass of sub-par metal songs.

I would not recommend this album to anyone. If you are interested in Running Wild, then check out classucs like "Under Jolly Roger", "Port Royal", "Death or Glory", "Blazon Stone", "Pile of Skulls" etc. Stay away from this one - it is not a good introduction to the great pirate metal band Running Wild.
