Atomic Rooster - Nice 'n' Greasy 1973

Great album for a great band. This line-up is amazing. I love Chris Farlowe voice and "Save Me" and "Can't Find A Reason".

Another classic from the classics

The Mars Volta - Amputechture 2006
5.5
Spanish Minimalistic Prog-Related Metal
I don't love this album. Yet I recognize that "Amputechture" is very popular for the precedent reviewers. For me is a sort of Neo Modern Spanish Prog Metal, also very minimalistic. And I can not understand the meaning of "Amputechture".

Renaissance - A Song For All Seasons 1978
9.9
Symphonic Prog Pop
quot;A Song For All Seasons" is a great example of atmospheric/ emotional/ orchestral Symphonic Folk Prog album by Renaissance. Incredibly band these Renassance with the great voice of Annie Haslam and a sole agreement that turns every second of a single song single emotion. "A Song For All Seasons" also for the presence of "The Royal Philarmonic Orchestra" is a sole example of Classic Music. The songs that I prefer are: "Opening Out", "Day Of The Dreamer", "Kidness (At Thr End)", "Back Home Again", "She Is Love", "Northern Lights" and "A Song For All Seasons. But also "Closer Than Yesterday" is in my heart. I concludind this review with this sentence: "A Song For All Seasons" is the Classic Music in Classic Prog Rock!

Dio - Holy Diver 1983
9.9
Heavy Prog-Related Metal
Similar to Dio's Rainbow "Holy Diver" is more Metal butr also more emotional and ambient. "Holy Diver" is the Dio's key album. Fundamental in 198 like today. In a certain sense another father of Revival Classic Metal! So it's true "Holy Diver is my Dio's definitive album!

Flea - Topi O Uomini 1972
8.5
Italian Heavy Retro Prog Classical
Very good album for Flea (ex flea On The Honey, then Etna), Heavy Prog bands from italy. Extreme good the long "Topi O Uomini" and "Amazzone A Piedi" (also aggressive in some parts), extreme Italian Symphonic "Sono Un Pesce" and good Heavy (like "Topi..." and "Amazzone...") "L'Angelo Timido". Extreme powerful the rhythmic section and also technical the guitars but the vocals are forced. In general "Topi O Uomini" is a typical 70's Italian album.

Notturna - Le Tue ali 2005
8.7
Italian Neo Prog Metal
Great album this "Le Tue Ali. Notturna in this album are deployed to trio (guitar and vocals, drums, bass) plus an external keyboard. But that's when the guitar is more present: therefore speak of Heavy Metal sound. But the songs are very Prog Metal, for rhythmic and more. But, in my opinion, not for construction. It would be more correct to speak of Tech Metal, but in 2005 it has become synonymous with Proto Prog metal and is no longer used. Sung in Italian this "Le Tue Ali" is extreme indicate for all fans of AOR and Tech Metal, but also a fan of Classic Prog Metal find bread for his teeth. And if you love bands like Asia, Royal Hunt, Toto, Savatage, Dream Theater and similars Notturna is your band. my preferred songs? "Czardas" (bonus track), "Regina Della Notte", "Cogli L'Attimo Che..." (pure aggressive Rock) and the two versions of "Le Tue Ali" (electric and acoustic).

Van Der Graaf Generator - Godbluff 1975
9.7
Atmospheric Prog
My first VDGG album. And my preferred VDGG album. If you love 70's Prog "Godbluff" is a must. Not aggressive but atmospheric, "Godbluff" is a perfect album. Only 4 songs, or better 3 (because "The Undercover man" and "Scorched Earth" are a double track), but fundamentals. With athmospheric Rock keyboards and guitar and also aggressive but always sweet vocals part. Very Rock, but extremely 70's not Symphonic Prog album, at the end.

Angra - Holy Live 1997, Live
8.4
Symphonic Neo Prog Classical
For many it is a premature live album. Not for me. Clear isn't a new "Made In Japan" or "On Stage" but "Holy Live", for me, it's at the same level. Ok, i'm too much excited? Maybe. But it is clear that "Holy Live" is a great experience with true Prog. What then does the teaser to the Revival Classic Metal in this case is only a great fortune.

Notturna - Illusioni 1998
7.0
Rock
Notturna is a band from Trieste that sung in Italian a good Rock/ Prog Rock/ Prog Metal. This "Illusioni" is their debut from 1998. Is an aggressive Rock/ AOR/ Class Metal album oriented in Prog Field but extreme Mainstream. Great the guitars but the drums parts are true Prog in many passages (since if extreme Rock). This album is important in Italy for the mainstream scene. But also for Prog scene. Unfortunately could be the final springboard for Italian Prog scene but later came only in 2005.
