| Trust level |
8/10
The trust level is set by staff and high ranking editors based on the ratings and tag assignments of the user. New users start with a trust level of 4/10. It is used as a weight in the calculation of track, album and artist data. NOTE: if you have a low trust level you can try to rate/tag some more albums, maybe correct gross inconsistencies in your existing ratings/tags (if there are any) and then contact us ... we'll be glad to re-examine your profile. If you think this is censorship ... well, in a way it is. But since this website is completely open to everyone who's willing to join and rate albums, we need some mechanisms to counteract abuse. Please also consider that we are not giving low trust levels to users just because their ratings differ from the general consensus. Typical reasons are suspected duplicate accounts used to submit many high/low ratings for a particular album, people who only join to rate one album and then never return etc.. If you want to get a high trust level, please don't just simply submit a couple of hundred ratings in an hour or so. Instead, try to keep rating albums steadily (perhaps a dozen ratings each week or even less) and also submit tags along with the ratings. In time we will recognize your efforts and increase your trust level. :-) |
