Prog Death Metal
 Cerebrum is a new Greek technical/ progressive death
metal act and Spectral Extravagance is their debut full-lenght
studio album. The music is technical/ progressive death metal
with an early 90s US death metal sensibility. Especially
Morbid Angel comes to mind a couple of times during the playing
time. Cerebrum is a bit more progressive in sound than Morbid
Angel though and acts such as Gorguts, Pestilence, Nocturnus
and Theory in Practice also comes to mind. The album features a
guest appearance by Nile drummer George Kollias who plays the
drums on the album. A very promising debut album and a
recommendable purchase for fans of the genre.
